Set design of Parkin’son: work in progress!
It is just great when your desires and emotions are physicalized into concrete images. Theresia and Daniel are now in San Benedetto del Tronto, in my home town, building up the scenography for Parkin’son while I’m in Holland touring with The Garden of Nicole Beutler.
They are working hard to materialize what we believe is the right landscape where my dad and I should move in. And it is quite a hard job for them considering the very limited budget they have available. 1600 kms away, they tease me with images of the work in progress... I have seen the maquette they built 2 weeks ago but I am so much looking forward to see the real thing in the theatre in Civitanova Marche next week!
Theresia and Daniel are a couple in life and work. They are now fusing their knowhow and theatre experiences to create a new company in Sweden: Blyg. Worth to be checked out in the coming future.
Working with them it is just inspirational. And they have been a great support.
I see how much, while creating a new work, the feeling of being trusted and supported is actually a great experience. I can sense it through the work and support of Theresia and Daniel but also in many other ways in this particular project. The way my dad is unconditionally giving himself, his trust and will to do better, harder and stronger is touching me on a deep level. Many other people are contributing as well to Parkin’son in a generous way. My mum by supporting everybody with words, food, money, time, even production and pr! Agnese is giving herself into the production even though she is now in England in the middle of an exams period. Luana from Danceworks hosted and supported us so kindly... Jimmy Fontana and his son that will sing for my dad and me on the premiere in Rome... Maarten is building up a fantastic and dreamy soundscape... Soosan that helped with buying last minute a projector... and so on... the list can be much longer... I feel blessed. And the extraordinary thing is that people in the team look happy and excited. Beside the possible final results of the work, this is quite a personal achievement. It really shows me clearly how I want to live and share with other people, also for the coming future. I wonder if a work of art could ever reflect this human insights...
Thanks everybody for making “Parkin’son creation” much more than just “an artistic process”. Thanks for making it a dense and significant moment of life.
